In 1988 I returned to Christchurch, no company car any more, and The Van had pretty much reached its use by date. So I had to buy a (Ford) Laser Station Wagon.
Derek and Peter were as good as their word, provided a large 8 person office (at no charge) and I set about building the business up.
Customers far and wide appeared delighted that I was back, so I continued to build a customer base, and obtained another Wang 2200 to power the office.
We supplied hardware and wrote software (programs) for wool clients, large and small, throughout the South Island literally from Blenheim to Invercargill and all points in between. One customer remarked that ' You will never make NZWTA Christmas Card list' This too was a pity considering just how much effort I had put into that organisation.
Mind you I also had the 'then new' Wang PC known as the Wang Professional.
I also bought, supplied to customers, and still have a WLTC (Wang Laptop Computer).
The design brief for this was that it had to have a built in printer, an internal 'hard disk' be battery powered and readily expandable.
I seem to recall that it also had to run both Wang software and this new fangled stuff that IBM were producing.
The Wang PC was some 50% faster than the equivalent IBM Product.
